Forged in Fire
About This Original Artwork
This large encaustic abstract painting is created using molten beeswax, damar resin, and raw pigments, fused layer by layer with heat. The surface is built slowly, each application bonded permanently through fire.
Color moves between luminous turquoise, ember red, coral flame, and deep emerald undertones. Light penetrates the wax and reflects back through translucent layers, creating internal glow and depth impossible to achieve with traditional paint alone.
This work explores elemental transformation. Fire is not destruction here. It is refinement. Heat reveals what remains strong enough to hold. The process demands patience and surrender. Wax cracks. Pigment shifts. Control is negotiated, not imposed.
Part of the Flame and Fire body of work, this painting reflects resilience shaped under pressure. The layered encaustic surface holds both turbulence and clarity — like emotion after it has been lived through.
Designed as a statement artwork, this piece anchors a living room, bedroom, or office with intensity and depth. The surface shifts throughout the day as light moves across it, revealing new color relationships and subtle translucency.
Collectors drawn to tactile, luminous contemporary abstract art often choose encaustic work for its presence — not flat, not passive, but alive.
