The surface of encaustic is unique, and the luminosity, light, and depth of the surface is what draws collectors and curators to the form.

About The Art

Encaustic painting, also known as hot wax painting, involves using heated beeswax to which colored pigments are added. The liquid or paste is then applied to a surface—usually prepared wood, though canvas and other materials are often used

It is a difficult and dangerous technique involving hot wax, heat guns, blow torches and fumes. The result is worth the danger and the effort
The surface of encaustic is unique, and the luminosity, light, and depth of the surface is what draws collectors and curators to the form.
