I keep being asked: Why cows?

I suppose it is because what they represent to me…an apparent contentment with life. Willing to live day by day, and moment by moment. Not striving for success or tomorrow. Not worried about what others may think of them. Content to lie under a shady tree or next to the water just enjoying the moment
And yet their lives are full of function, without them striving towards that function.
In many cultures, the cow has been a symbol of fertility, nurturing, and power for centuries.

Biblically the cow signifies goodness and truth. The term cattle in the original tongue is from a word which also means acquisition, It can therefore be interpreted as truth through goodness.

So…that is why I paint them. To show mercy and goodness, simpleness and contentment with life. A moment of truth…
